Condition Guide
Choosing the right condition when you request a quote is what keeps your quoted price intact through inspection. Use this guide to grade your device before you check out — the final condition is confirmed by our technicians when the device arrives, as described in Section 6 (Device Inspection & Condition Assessment)of our Terms & Conditions.
Excellent
Close to new condition.
- Fully functional — works as intended
- Battery health is 85% or higher
- No visible signs of use or damage
Good
Normal signs of careful use.
- Fully functional — works as intended
- Battery health is above 80%
- No scratches on the screen or back that can be felt with a fingernail
- Frame has no scratches, dents, dings, chips, or areas where the original finish has worn away
- No cracks or physical damage
Poor
Noticeable cosmetic wear, but fully functional.
- Fully functional — works as intended
- Battery health is above 80%
- Does not meet the cosmetic requirements for Excellent or Good
- No cracks or physical damage
Broken
Physically damaged, not fully functional, or both.
- Device powers on
- Does not meet the requirements for Excellent, Good, or Poor
- May have cracks or physical damage
- May have one or more features that do not work as intended
Requirements for All Devices
These apply to every device regardless of the condition grade you select. A device that does not meet them may receive a revised offer, and in some cases may not qualify for free return shipping.
- All accounts, passwords, Find My, iCloud, Google, Samsung, and other activation locks must be removed
- Device must not be reported lost or stolen
- IMEI, ESN, or serial number must not be blacklisted, blocked, or altered
- Device must not be locked by MDM, a school, business, or another organization
- Device must be fully paid off and free of financing, lease, or other payment obligations
- Device must be reset to factory settings before shipment
